Thuongmai University Supporting International Students Staying in Student’s Hall of Residence during Covid-19

Given the complicated happenings of the Covid-19 pandemic, Hanoi City is at the moment realizing social distancing under Directive No. 16 by Vietnam’s Government. So that no one is left behind and in order to share difficulties with international students staying in the Student’s Hall of Residence, the University has been conducting practical activities to support the students, giving them a peace of mind to overcome the pandemic.

Specifically, under the instruction by the University’s Board of Management, this morning (July 27th), Prof/A. Dr. Nguyễn Viết Thái – Chairman of the University’s Union and Đỗ Hữu Nhuận, MA. – Head of the Management Board of the Student’s Hall of Residence gave 100 kg of rice, 10 boxes of instant noodle, 300 eggs, 20 boxes of bottled water and 20 servings of condensed sugar milk to 20 international students living in the Student’s Hall of Residence. These are necessary for them to survive the lockdown under Directive No. 16.

In addition to ensuring food supply, the members of the Board of Management of the Student’s Hall of Residence regularly instruct and remind students to comply with regulations on disease prevention and 5K directive. Student living area is cleaned everyday and has available hand gel and clean water to fight the pandemic, ensuring the best living conditions for students.

The University’s support is expected to help reducing challenges facing international students who are living away from their families under the influence of the pandemic, encouraging them to focus on studying.
