Scholarship Granting Ceremony to Laotian Students Studying in Vietnam and Vietnamese Students

Over the past years, Vietnam’s Communist Party and government have had a number of study and talent promoting policies and activities to encourage poor students to overcome difficulties and get ahead in their study. To Laotian students, Vietnam’s government also has policies to grant scholarships and make the best conditions for them to study in Vietnam.

To encourage the fondness for learning of Laotian and Vietnamese students at Thuongmai University, in the morning of 6th December, 2018, Vietnam Association for Learning Promotion cooperated with Lao People’s Democratic Republic in Vietnam and Thuongmai University held the ceremony to grant scholarships to Laotian students studying in Vietnam and grant scholarships to Vietnamese students.

Attending the ceremony, on behalf of Lao’s embassy in Vietnam, there were Sir Vieng Say Đa Ra Sen, Minister Counsellor; Sir Am Pha Van Quang Ma Ni Van, Counsellor of Culture and education. On behalf of Vietnam’s Association of Learning Promotion, there were Prof.Dr. Advanced Teacher, Nguyen Thi Doan, President of Vietnam’s Association of Learning Promotion, Former member of the Executive Committee of Vietnam’s Communist Party, Former Vice President of Vietnam’s Socialist Republic; Pham Thi Hoe, Deputy President of of Vietnam’s Association of Learning Promotion and representatives of departments under Vietnam’s Association of Learning Promotion. On behalf of Ministry of Education and Training, there was Doan Hong Ha, Deputy Head of Department of Political education and student affairs. On the side of sponsors, there were Nguyen Hong Son, Vice CEO of CMC Technology Group, and Cao Minh Son, Chairman of the Board of Dat Viet Financial Investment Co.

At the ceremony, to promote the learning tradition, Prof. Dr. Đinh Văn Sơn, Thuongmai University’s Rector, on behalf of the university, granted a sum of VND 100 million to Vietnam’s Association of Learning Promotion. Also, representatives of Vietnam’s Association of Learning Promotion announced the decision and granted scholarships to 100 Laotian students studying at Vietnam’s universities and 16 students of Thuongmai Universities for overcoming difficulties and achieving excellent results in study.

The scholarships granting ceremony to Laotian and Vietnamese students took place successfully, making contributions to promote the fondness for learning of the countries’ students.
