Within the cooperative framework of science and technology among Thuongmai University, University of Economics – Hue University, Hai Phong University, Lunghwa University of Science and Technology (Taiwan) and University of Toulon, on 28th August 2018, Thuongmai University successfully hosted the international conference themed “The 4th Industrial Revolution: Opportunities and Challenges for Vietnam’s Economic Development”.

The conference is a scientific forum for economic managers, policy makers, business people, scientists and lecturers to discuss and identify opportunities and challenges of this revolution from different aspects at different levels for Vietnam’s economy, through which solutions and recommendations were suggested to overcome the challenges as well as take advantage of the opportunities.

The international conference had 04 sessions:
- The English – Vietnamese session themed: Mechanism and policies for state management in the context of the 4th industrial revolution, apply information technology in public service and E-government supply and management;
- The Vietnamese session themed: Innovate the economic development model and the economic structure transition; innovate business models and the labor and training structure transition;
- The English – Vietnamese session themed: Startup and innovation, creativity in the 4th industrial revolution; apply information technology in public service supply and management;

- The Vietnamese session themed: International economic integration and sustainable export development, sustainable agricultural development with environment-friendly products;
After a serious and effective working day with the participation of more than 150 delegates from central government offices, domestic and foreign researchers, business managers, university lecturers, the conference listened to 20 speeches and counter-arguments as well as discussions from scientists, economic managers and policy makers. During the four sessions, from different perspectives, scientists shared the conference with multi-dimensional information on opportunities and challenges for Vietnamese economy in the 4th industrial revolution.
The conference closed successfully and left many suggestions for further study for scientists, managerial offices, institutions and businesses.
