At the invitation of Cookbiz Co., LTD, a delegation of Thuongmai University led by the Rector - Prof. Dr. Dinh Van Son came to Japan to discuss and ink a deal with the Japanese counterparts for sending students of the Hospitality and Tourism Faculty to Japan for internships.

The Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism of Thuongmai University was founded in 1966 with the original name of “Organizing and Engineering of Public Catering Enterprises” (or “Public Catering”). With its over 50 years of history, the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism is one of Vietnam’s leading training institutes in the field, thanks to its highly qualified, dedicated and enthusiastic teaching staff.

Aimed at providing students with opportunities to do an internship in a professional, international environment to develop their knowledge and skills and to work in Japan, Thuongmai University signed an agreement with Cookbiz, Suganuma Group and Pizza 4P’s on July 2nd 2019 in Japan. Under the agreement, the Japanese counterparts will receive students from the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism of Thuongmai University for 6-12 month-internships, in unlimited quantity; moreover, they will assist training in Japanese cuisine and serving styles. Besides, the counterparts will recruit Vietnamese employees to work in the restaurants and hotels in Japan under the 5 -year contracts.

In order to be qualified as an intern in Japan, Thuongmai University students must have the certificate of Japanese Language Proficiency Test N4. The University will cooperate with the counterparts to organize Japanese classes on campus.
This is not only a breakthrough in training of the University in general and the Faculty in particular but also a golden opportunity for students to do their internships overseas in a professional environment and a job opportunity to work in luxury hotels and restaurants in Japan.
